Chiropractic care is a proven, effective treatment for a wide variety of common conditions. Some are listed here, but if you do not see your specific condition we encourage you to Contact Us so we can personally address your particular concerns.

Allergies

Many allergic and asthmatic conditions are caused by hypersensitivity of the immune system and/or respiratory system. These systems depend on the normal flow of information from the brain to the spinal cord that controls and coordinates their functions.

If your neck is misaligned, this upper cervical spinal joint irritation could produce or exaggerate allergic and asthmatic symptoms. An office examination will reveal if these symptoms can be helped by chiropractic care.

Carpel Tunnel Syndrome (CTS)

This painful condition is one of today’s most widespread occupational health problems, affecting millions each year. Constant pressure on the median nerve above the wrist can cause numbness, tingling, burning, weakness or grip loss that affects daily activity—and even lead to loss of sleep!

Chiropractic adjustment, physiotherapy, stretching and strength exercises can, in most cases alleviate and eventually eliminate your CTS-associated symptoms.

Disc Problems

Discs are the ‘shock absorbers’ that separate, cushion and connect vertebrae that form the spinal column. Subjected to the pull of gravity and the torque daily movement, a subluxation, or structural imbalance, can cause bulging, protruding or herniation of a disc. Contact of the affected disc with sensitive nerves often causes debilitating pain.

We effectively treat this common problem with spinal realignment and physiotherapy, reducing the pressure on the disc and spinal joints. Stabilization of core muscles is an essential element to treatment and prevention of subsequent disc problems.

Headaches

Headaches are a common result of our fast-paced, stress-filled culture. There are many causes for headaches, but if your back or neck are misaligned, symptoms can affect your nerves, muscles and even blood flow to the head.

Instead of symptom-masking, over-the-counter meds, a simple examination can determine if chiropractic care can be an effective alternative treatment for your headaches. Chiropractic adjustments, as well as adjustments to your diet and lifestyle, will dramatically reduce the frequency and severity of headaches.

Joint Dysfunction

This condition is the most commonly treated disorder at Chiropractic Solutions, and Dr. Christie is a specialist in dealing with joint or articular problems. Caused by osteoarthritis, subluxations, sprains and disc problems, misaligned or impaired joints will rapidly degenerate if not attended to promptly and properly.

Adjustment procedures, physiotherapy and rehabilitation exercises have proven very effective in the treatment of joint disorders. As with all conditions we treat, if you are not a candidate for chiropractic care we will be glad to refer you to another health care provider to deal with your issues.

Neurological Conditions

Headaches, neurtis, radiculitis and vertigo are neurological conditions commonly treated within the chiropractic profession. Neuritis, the inflammation of any part of a nerve other than the nerve root, can cause tingling, hot spots, cold spots, or crawling, stinging or burning sensations. Radiculitis, the inflammation of a nerve root as it exits the spine, is a common source of shoulder, arm and hand pain.

Since neurological problems can be extremely serious and even life-threatening, they may require referral to or co-management with other health care professionals.

Osteoarthritis

This degeneration of the cartilage and joint bones, caused by the ‘wear and tear’ of life, is often associated with degenerative changes in the disc and result in friction between adjoining vertebrae. This friction causes a strain and loss of motion in the gliding joints of the spine. Continued exposure of these joints to trauma or severe exercise can lead to severe lower back or leg pain.

While chiropractic cannot halt this process we can improve your quality of life as you experience this condition. Spinal adjustments, physiotherapy, stretching and exercise are common treatments, and we can recommend natural, drug-free ways to control your osteoarthritis-related pain.

Whiplash

Whiplash is the common term for injury caused by hyperextension (increased backward motion) and hyperflexion (increased forward motion) of the neck. Symptoms, including headaches, vision problems, neck stiffness, restricted movement and shoulder, neck or arm pain, do not always surface immediately after the incident. Most symptoms from whiplash injuries are not experienced for several days, or sometimes even months or years later.

Since structural balance of your neck and spine is critical to your health, seek prompt attention to your whiplash injury, even if you are not experiencing pain. We assist your recovery by restoring the correct alignment of your neck and spine, allowing them to heal properly. Physiotherapy, exercise and natural anti- inflammatories will also help restore you to good health.
